Default Warrior looking for Hero support in Glint's Challenge

Though I've been playing Guild Wars for a while, I've only relatively recently started to try my hand at some of the other non-RP aspects of the game. In my case, I've found the odd urge to upgrade the appearances of the heroes I use, and since I was in Tyria again I found it was a good change to try Glint's Challenge for its rewards (since I liked the Brotherhood Armor skins better than the ones available for the completion of the Last Hierophant)... The thing is, since I'm only able to play once I get back from work, I normally find no one around to party with in the districts I play in (European English and International).

So, I was wondering if anyone out there had ideas for a build to complement my Warrior? I usually bring Gash, Sever Artery, Distracting Blow, with Ursan as my elite, Watch Yourselves and Shield's Up for party support, plus a resurrect, and I've tried several hero combinations so far (including Sab's tri-necro build), but the furthest I've come solo is the Destroyer of Lives wave, where the spike in damage brought by all those spellcasting Destroyers overwhelms the party.

(Some tactics would be nice too)

That build no longer works due to the Inner Fire fix, and she wants to complete it not farm Dcores.

Reading OP ftw.

If you're having trouble, I recommend subbing in [Dark Fury] on one of the necros and bumping up blood to 4-5, then run a Dslash+SY!.

Ursan isn't all that great in single player, the relatively slow attack rate and lack of meaningful damage between special attacks means the destroyers will swarm you and eventually overwhelm your party.

I'd agree that a [For Great Justice] [Enraging Charge][flail][Brawling Headbutt][steelfang slash] [Dragon slash][Save Yourselves] type of build would be better.

Warrior/Ranger destroyers are useless when blinded, so I would suggest something like a [Ebon Dust Aura] dervish with an ebon scythe, or a ranger with [volley] and an ebon bow*, or an ele set up with blind spells.

*I haven't tried a hero with this so you might have to baby-sit them and ensure they use the aura.

An MM is invaluable in there; plenty of corpses to go at and all the minions distract the destroyers. I found a rit minion-bomber's minions to be a bit too fragile and prefer a necro with lvl16 in death magic for those extra few seconds of distraction.

As for tactics, stick to the upper left hand side of the pit in front of the baby dragon for the first few waves. And resist the urge to charge off up one of the slopes, you'll quickly get overwhelmed, let the destroyers come to you a little bit. Don't take Cynn but ensure your team has a high damage output otherwise the destroyers will stack up and beat you with sheer numbers.

Oh, and make sure you have your Deldrimor title active.

Hodgie: *rolls eyes* Not going to farm, thank you very much.

Widowmaker: I've tried different positions when trying to take on the first two waves, but flagging heroes and henchmen in the open area in front of pit results in the team eventually being caught in the crossfire of the ranger destroyers. What's worse, once the Destroyers of Thoughts come into play, their Chaos Storm (plus the Spirit Rifts) wreaks havoc with my backline, ESPECIALLY since the heroes and henchmen just love to bunch together.

On the few rare instances that I somehow manage to survive the first two waves, I do fine, until I hit the Destroyer of Lives wave. I get so busy running around killing the elementalists, that I seldom notice the massive wave of level 24-28 Destroyer of Thoughts that have swarmed into the room, and have subsequently destroyed my team due to (you guessed it) Chaos Storm.

This shouldn't be really too much of a problem in a mostly human team, I know, but like I mentioned, I rarely come on where the Central Transfer Chamber is full of people.

Ehm, the build you proposed looks interesting, but unfortunately I haven't even gotten to the first rank of Kurzick alignment, so 'Save Yourself' is out. ^^ While the +100 armor is probably going to be amazingly useful, I'd have thought an offensive build that focused on conditions would do wonders against some of the nastier destroyers in the mission.

Also, if you're not finding people to play with in European districts, try the American ones? You can switch between them easily, and I've found that at least in EotN, there are more people in the US districts than in the EU ones.

Edit: Unless you manage do stack a LOT of conditions, you won't be killing them fast enough with a condition-focused build.

That's the problem with both American and European servers... It's often just the start of the day in America when it's evening here in the Philippines, and while it's also going to be around evening in Europe when I get home, I work mornings, so I'd probably be asleep by then.

Anyway, back to the topic. I'd been using Sab's tri-necro variants, and I noticed that they held amazingly well, but when mobbed they get confused on which spell to cast. Heck the MM kept on casting death nova (??) instead of creating minions. ^^

You're not killing them fast enough, which is causing you to get overwhelmed. You need to chose a side, kill the nearest ones as fast as possible then retreat back and clear a few out on the other side, repeat until clear. It certainly isn't easy with only one player but it is possible.

See above, it really is all about killing them faster.

I rarely team with other players at all.

Even without [Save Yourselves!] that build will put out a lot of damage by cycling the last three skills, it also works as damage reduction by keeping your target on the floor with knockdowns. If you haven't played that build I'd suggest giving it a try.

Inner fire heals them for 30 health a second for 10 seconds. You're going to have a hard time with conditions against that. Combine that with the ranger's [Lightning Reflexes] and they can be very difficult to take down quick, especially if you're relying on conditions.

Widowmaker: I took the knockdown chain skillset you mentioned (without Save Yourselves, I better rectify that), and it performed great against individual destroyers (Compassion destroyers seemed to go down quickly), but against the warrior mobs of the fourth wave, I found that *I* was overwhelmed (instead of the henchment and heroes), since there were just too many targets for me to divide my attention on.

Grr, after getting Legendary Spearmarshal I'll work on my Kurzick alignment.
